The National Coordinating Center for Digitization of Biodiversity Collections (iDigBio), headquartered at the Florida Museum and funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), is managing and sustaining an integrated national infrastructure for digitization of biodiversity collections housed in U.S. institutions. iDigBio provides access to training, information, and data critical to scientific research and education, including those designed to facilitate understanding of biodiversity and societal consequences of global change and other environmental issues. A full-time Deputy Project Manager will be hired to work with the Project Director and Project Manager to assist in the overall management and administration of iDigBio, including the efficient and effective completion of project goals and objectives. The Deputy Project Manager will be responsible for: maintaining the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS); helping to resolve issues related to project scope, time, and resources; gathering information, progress reports, and statistics in preparation of reports to funding agencies; editing and maintaining content in iDigBio’s web and print resources to ensure balance; planning, organizing, and documenting meetings of iDigBio’s committees, teams, and review boards; workshop planning, organization, and logistics; and providing expertise and guidance to the biodiversity community in the areas of leadership, management, and project execution.
