iDigBio Service Level Agreement SLA

INTRODUCTION

The resources of Integrated Digitized Biocollections (“iDigBio”) are free, publicly-available, open-source computing resources and services. The purpose of this Service Level Agreement (SLA) is to define the terms of service for the website, wiki, portal, appliances, Application Programming Interface (API), Data, information, and other products and services offered by iDigBio (“iDigBio Services”). iDigBio is a program of the Florida Museum of Natural History, a unit of the University of Florida, a public body corporate of the State of Florida.

Welcome to Integrated Digitized Biocollections (iDigBio), the national coordinating center for the Advancing Digitization of Biodiversity Collections (ADBC) program funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). iDigBio is enabling digitization of data and media for millions of biodiversity specimens from U.S. collections and is integrating those data to make them available online for the research community, government agencies, students, educators, citizen scientists, and the general public to promote understanding of biodiversity and societal consequences of environmental issues.

IDigBio Announces Dried Insect Digitization Workshop April 24-25, 2013

Pinned Insect DraweriDigBio is pleased to announce the third in a series of preparation-specific workshops focusing on organizing, launching, maintaining, and/or enhancing a biological collections digitization program. This workshop will focus on digitization of dried insect specimens, stored in drawers and trays, either pinned or in packets. The workshop will be held at The Field Museum, Chicago, Illinois April 24–25, 2013. We have funding to support travel and per diem for 24 participants. April 23 and 26 will be travel days, with a welcoming reception early evening, April 23. Those desiring to attend this workshop should complete the online application no later than February 15, 2013.
