iDigBio Community Code of Conduct

We celebrate online conversation because it embraces frank and open conversation. Frankness should not enable a lack of civility. We present iDigBio’s Online Community Code of Conduct in the hope that it helps create a culture that encourages both personal expression and constructive conversation. This Code of Conduct is subject to change at any time, at iDigBio's sole discretion.

Handwriting Samples & Resources - Where are they? What next?

What's the most efficient way to help students or staff when they run into difficult (dare I say it -- illegible!) handwriting on a herbarium sheet? We, the natural history collections and biodiversity informatics communities, haven't got a magic answer or perfect resource - yet for the penmanship-challenged (or maybe we can blame it on quill pens or early ball points). While there are web sites that offer possible clues, what are your ideas?

STEM End Users

Special thanks to Dr. Bruce McFadden for the presentation on iDigBio for the Tampa Bay Fossil Club. The main thought that I came away with was the need for public and professional contribution of time that will be needed to achieve the goals already outlined. It is so easy to develop ideas on how individuals and institutions can benefit by using the iDigBio collections, but until it can be populated the end users will most likely focus on what is not available.
