You may have noticed that our forums categorization has changed. We originally pre-created a hierarchy of discussion containers that we thought would be appropriate for the community. However, we have decided to reduce the hierarchy to a minimal number of forum categories and enable the community to drive the categorization based upon the discussion popularity that reveals itself over time. As popular topics bubble to the surface we will work to structure the hierarchy of forum containers and re-categorize forum topics to reflect logical groupings of popular topics. In the interim, please feel free to post forum topics in the General Discussion area. No posts were deleted during the re-categorization.
The Working Group containers were created as a direct result of feedback obtained during the iDigBio Summit on 11/30/2011 and 12/1/2011. These are clearly key topics in the effort to effectively digitize biological collections, and these topics were the subject of much discussion during the Summit. Please feel welcome to continue the dialog initiated during the Summit within these forums.
