The third annual iDigBio Summit will be held on November 19-20, 2013, in Tallahassee, Florida. The Summit is a meeting of representatives from all TCNs, iDigBio, and other activities related to the Advancing Digitization of Biodiversity Collections (ADBC) program. The Summit will focus on discussions of shared goals, challenges and opportunities, and collaboration among stakeholders.
The meeting will consist of lightning presentations from iDigBio, TCNs, and RDCNs as well as discussion sessions to collaborate on issues relevant to all of us. In addition, we will have a exhibit/demo session to facilitate further exploration of TCNs, working groups, etc. More details to follow once the Summit agenda is finalized.
An informal welcome reception will be held on Monday evening (Nov. 18), and we expect the meeting to conclude in the late afternoon on Wednesday (Nov. 20). It is recommended that participants plan to travel on Monday (Nov. 18) and Thursday (Nov. 21). Tallahassee is surrounded by outstanding natural areas which participants may wish to visit. iDigBio is preparing a list of local attractions and activities, including “tours” and “field trips” to be guided by iDigBio personnel.
