Workshop Details

When: May 20–22, 2024
Venue: Carnegie Museum of Natural History, 4400 Forbes Ave | Pittsburgh, PA 15213
Day 1 Location: Earth Theater is located on the first floor of CMNH. Participants can enter CMNH through the gift shop and walk straight until they reach the doors of the “Dinosaurs in Their Time (DITT)” exhibition. Visitors should take the curving path through DITT until they reach the spiral staircase. At the staircase, turn left and go through the doors into “Discovery Basecamp”, where the Earth Theater is in the far left corner.
Day 2 Location: CMP Board Room is located between CMNH and Carnegie Museum of Art, across from the glass courtyard. To access the CMP Board Room before the museum is open, arrive at the Portal Entrance which is near the parking lot and a CMNH staff member will escort you.
Day 3 Location: Classroom A is located through the Portal Entrance, past the glass doors.

Logistic information

Invited participant support: Lodging, airfare, ground transportation, and per diem expenses reimbursed following the workshop. Please contact Lauren Cohen at cohen.lauren@floridamuseum.ufl.edu to purchase flights and reserve lodging via the UF GO booking tool.
Airport: Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT)
Airport transportation: Uber/Lyft/taxi are the easiest and most convenient ways to get from the airport to the hotel. Transportation could take up to an hour.

Transportation from hotel to venue: Walking distance 0.4 miles (9 minutes)
Wifi networks: Once on-site, workshop participants can log into a WIFI network for internet access.
Meals: Lunch will be provided at the CMNH on Tuesday and Wednesday. Breakfast and dinner will not be provided. However, at the State of Florida statutory rates, you will be reimbursed for those meals following the workshop.
