iDigBio at ICE 2016 XXV Insect Expo Education and Outreach Event
iDigBio at ICE 2016 Insect Expo [1]! [2]
If you're going to be at the International Congress of Entomologists (ICE) 2016, and if you want hear, see, and touch some insects, the Insect Expo [1] makes this possible. If you can't be there - we'll take photos.
This Expo will feature incredible exhibits that include arts & crafts, an insect petting zoo, cockroach racing, cricket spitting, songs, games, edible insects, and fun projects that kids can take back home. http://ice2016orlando.org/about/call-for-ice-2016-insect-expo-ideas/ [1]. iDigBio Education and Outreach Coordinartor, Molly Phillips can't wait to show the kids the Libraries of Life 3-D cards and talk to them about insects. Organized by Andrine A. Shufran, and Marianne Shockley.
From the Insect Expo website:
The ICE 2016 Insect Expo Committee is soliciting ideas for activities, presentations, and stations for an Insect Expo [2] for youth during the 2016 International Congress of Entomology in Orlando. The Expo will be held on Wednesday, Sept 28th from 10:00am – 2:00pm in the Orange County Convention Center.
Volunteer and learn more here [2].
If you have a fun idea that teaches an important entomological concept, please send a description and a supply list of your activity to Andrine Shufran at andrine@okstate.edu [3].
Thank you so much for your contributions to entomology education on this grand scale!
