iDigBio Media Ingestor

The iDigBio Media Ingestor is one part of the iDigBio Data Ingestion process. The Media Ingestor retrieves media that have been published by data providers so iDigBio can generate derivatives (e.g. thumbnails) suitable for use in the web portal.

This process is part of iDigBio's mission and scope.

Detail

The Media Ingestor specifically attempts to retrieve those media that have been published and shared with iDigBio. It is not a general purpose web crawler or bot.

The iDigBio Media Ingestor is operated by the data ingestion staff. To report issues with the Media Ingestor, click the Feedback button along the right side of this page or send email to idigbio AT acis.ufl.edu.
