Overview: ALA, CSIRO, iDigBio, Smithsonian, BMNH, Naturalis, and NSF are meeting in Canberra, Australia, April 13-17, 2015, to discuss all projects and potential for collaborations among the projects.

Monday: Pathways to Collaboration: Get acquainted, get settled, high level discussions among main international representatives (above).

Tuesday: 15 minute presentations by all, including the following (titles/order/etc. tentative at this point). This day to include collections folks from Australia, hence larger audience.

• Larry Page: Overview of iDigBio, its genesis, development, funding, future, ADBC, NIBA, etc.)
• Pam Soltis: Role in advancing scientific research with digitized data
• Bruce MadFadden: iDigBio - Education and outreach
• Greg Riccardi: iDigBio's role in facilitating and enabling digitization
• Jose Fortes: Cyberinfrastructure, portal and data             
• David Jennings: Project management     
• Austin Mast: Public participation and citizen science management            
• Gil Nelson: Community building, digitization workflow development, training and product workshops
• Paul Kimberly: Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History: Rapid capture techniques
• Keping Ma: National Specimen Information Infrastructure of China (NSII)
• Vince Smith: NHM Digital Collections Programme and the NHM Data Portal
• Paul Flemons: DigiVol- Taking crowdsourcing to the next level with structured volunteering
• Alexis Tindall & Alison Vaughan: Community coordination for Australian herbaria and zoological collections
• Dan Gledhill: Digital tools for taxonomy: maps, images, x-rays and the ALA
• Changming Sun: Feature extraction from insect wings (dragonfly example)
• Stuart Anderson: Putting 3D Insect Scans to Work

Wednesday/Thursday: Extended discussions, about 1.5 hours each on such topics as crowdsourcing/citizen science, cyber infrastructure, workflow, global collections for advancing scientific research, etc. Collection tours to be included in these days. Content for these days is still being worked out.

Friday: Field trip to local natural area.

Saturday: Depart

Lodging: ANU campus, hotel-style. We provide rooming list, ALA will secure reservations. Will determine a contact for Cathy/Molly at hotel and ALA/CSIRO.
