Photos.; Plant height 5 feet, multi-stemmed from underground roots; stems with obvious tubercules, green or gray-green; spines white, some with darker tips; flowers collected in the morning and late afternoon, additional flowers collected 21 April 2011, diameter 43-81 mm, length 69-80 mm, outer perinath peach or mauve-brown with bronze midstripe, inner perianth peach or mauve with bronze midstripe; stigma lobe number 6-7, light yellow; style cream or pale mauve; filaments mauve or bronze-maroon; anthers golden.
