The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Herbarium's collection of bryophytes is small, and focuses on species of the Southeastern United States. Our vascular plant collection is world-wide in scope but focuses on plants of southeastern U.S., especially Carolinas. Our phycological collection is world-wide with a focus on temperate, red marine algae. Mycological collections are world-wide in scope with a focus on species from the Southeastern United States. NCU's lichen collection focuses on species of the Southeastern United States. Our paleobotanical collections focus on plants of the Devonian.
