HabitatAlpine meadow, relatively flat. Barbed wire fencing. Winter grazing by yak and/or sheep. Pikas (Ochotona curzoniae) poisoned in November/ December 2003. Twenty-six active and 46 inactive pika burrows counted in 30m transect. Telephone poles running length of field site parallel to road. Soil extremely hard, forming concrete-like surface.
