iDigBio System Administrator and Programmer
Chris Wilson shares responsibility of software development and systems administration at the iDigBio project.
Chris has been a software developer and systems administrator for over 25 years. Only three years after joining the UF workforce as an OPS employee in 1989, Chris co-authored the Department of Pediatrics patient scheduling system and IT customer support software. Since then, he has worked in the telecommunications, transportation, and financial service industries. Chris received his Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Science from the University of Florida in 1999. Shortly thereafter, Chris joined NERDC at the University of Florida where he built and maintained IT infrastructure to support the University of Florida core network. After that role, Chris has held multiple positions as a web developer utilizing a broad range of software technologies. Websites hosting functionality developed by Chris include the state of Mississippi, Florida, Vermont, Michigan, and Texas college savings websites, the Alachua County hazardous materials website, and rail management services software provided by GE Transportation.
