The step-by-step instructions or guidelines someone uses to accomplish a complex task. One example of a workflow is the post-processing work a digital photographer uses to download raw camera images from a camera to a computer, edit them, and then store them in a finadable, searchable archive. Another example is the digitization workflow, i.e., prepare specimens for imaging, create an image, extract the label data into a database, upload the images to a computer and finally to link them to the specimen record.
