Regarding the statement in our workshop intro: "The planning committee also recognizes that some institutions may follow a workflow that proceeds from object to data to image; while this approach is not preferred, it will be addressed to some degree during the Workshop."

I think we should qualify the phrase "not preferred" to suggest that our workshop does not focus on object-data-image workflows. Preference is not the issue. Stating that workflows other than object-image-data are "not preferred" is not universally accurate. There are collections, especially in entomology, that do not intend to image every specimen. In some cases the specimens to be imaged might be a small percentage of the total collection. In these situations, doing data entry first is logical, and decisions about which specimens to image may actually occur at the time of data entry.

Gil, I think your point is valid and my wording may be clumsy and bound to alienate those who would achieve the best process possible by following the alternate sequence of events. I am all for modifying the language to simply clarify that the Object > Data > Image workflow will not be a focus of the Workshop. I am open to other input.
